DoorDash drivers and tips. Is it just me?

Okay I need to vent. I ordered DoorDash few days ago. Small order, one meal, like 25 bucks. The app suggested a tip and I gave what I thought was fair. Then the driver messages me asking if I can increase the tip because "gas is expensive." I'm sorry but that's not my problem. I already paid a delivery fee and a service fee. Why is it on me to pay your wages? Anyone else?

Not just you. I stopped using those apps. I'm not paying 30 bucks for a cold burger. And I'm sure as hell not tipping 20 percent on top of all the fees.These companies need to pay their drivers. Not my job.

Maybe we should just start a thread for local delivery drivers who work for themselves. Cut out the app. I know a guy in Rigby who does deliveries for cheap. Support local. Just a thought.

If you don't get paid enough at door dash, find a different job. Beg your boss for more money, not the customers.

I stopped using it. Its too expensive. I'd rather just drive and get it myself or cook.

@MasonReed I agree, especially since everything here in Idaho Falls is just a 5–15 minute drive away.

So the Little Caesar's pizza here is $7, but after Door Trash fees and BS, the total came to $15.... and that's before any tip 😆
